Dr Shamsi qualified from the Royal London in 1994 and is Principal of Horizons Dental Centre & Genesis Dental Centre..
He has been running the practice since October 1999 and has an interest in cosmetic dentistry and oral surgery. He and his team have a profound interest in continuing professional development. As a former lecturer in the restorative department at Manchester Dental School teaching final year students, he continues to instill this ethos of learning in his current practice.
Dr Shamsi has also been involved with Vocational Training since 2001, teaching and mentoring new graduates in practice. In 2008, he was elevated to the status of Vocational Training Advisor in the West Midlands Deanery and is responsible for running one of the training schemes at Walsgrave Hospital in Coventry.
Dr Shamsi sits on the Local Dental Committee panel and is also involved in examining at postgraduate level for the Faculty’s MJDF examination and Overseas Registration examination in London, both of which are highly accredited. He is also a clinical mentor for GDPs who have allegations brought against them by the GDC. In 2006, he acquired a Postgraduate Diploma in Medical Ethics and Law and since then works as a Clinical panelist for the GDC’s Dental Complaints Service. Last year he was appointed on the panel for the GDC's Fitness to Practice Procedures.
Outside dentistry he enjoys sport, travelling, attending the gym and spending time with his wife and 3 children.
